SoCalX is led by Josh Sowell (Founder), Martin Castro (Manager/racer), and Bailey Cole (Racing Management Director), all of whom have extensive experience in ULTRA4, Baja 1000, and King of the Hammers.

SoCalX is a full-service off-road adventure company. We handle door-to-door vehicle transport, guided expeditions, corporate team-builds, professional race support, off-road skill training, specialty overland and King of the Hammers programs—and run an e-commerce store for rugged apparel and gear - The Official Socalx Store 

How do I create an account or register for an expedition?

Visit this page and fill out the short form. We’ll assign you a trip planner within 24 hours. Review your custom itinerary, confirm, and submit your deposit to lock in dates.

Do I need prior off-road experience to book a trip or training?

No prior experience needed. Our courses are beginner-friendly but scale up to advanced. We tailor sessions to your experience, so you build confidence wherever you start.

What types of vehicles can you transport, and do you offer international shipping?

We transport all types of off road vehicles including ATVs, ULTRA4 race cars, trophy trucks, and overlanders, but we do not offer international shipping.

How far in advance should I book my adventure or event?

- Standard trips: 1–3 months ahead
- King of the Hammers & specialty: 2-3 months ahead
- Corporate: 3-4+ months for best options

Can you customize an off-road experience for a corporate retreat?

Yes, we tailor corporate and private experiences based on group size, skill level, and adventure goals.

Pricing, Payments & Policies

How are your services priced and what factors affect cost?

Quotes are custom. Main factors: group size, trip length, terrain, transport distance, vehicle count, lodging, and guide ratio. All pricing is upfront—no hidden fees.

What payment methods do you accept and is a deposit required?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, ACH, and wire transfers. Deposits (30%) secure your date; balance is due 30 days out.

What is your cancellation, rescheduling and refund policy?

- Cancel ≥30 days: 100% refund
- Cancel 14–29 days: 50% refund
- Cancel <14 days: no refund
Rescheduling? Free if rebooked in the same season, if available.

Safety, Insurance & Liability

What safety measures and gear do you provide on expeditions?

Every trip includes:
-  Certified guides First-aid kits and trauma packs
- Satellite comms & GPS trackers
- Recovery gear (winches, jacks, straps)
- Helmets and radios for rock-crawling

Do you offer insurance or liability coverage for my vehicle and participants?

We carry $2M general liability. All guests sign a waiver. We request that you carry your own vehicle/personal insurance and confirm off-road coverage.

What happens if a vehicle breaks down or I have an emergency on the trail?

Support trucks carry spares, tools, and guides skilled at repairs. Can’t fix it? We arrange a tow or evacuation using satellite beacon.

Do you offer beginner-friendly off-road training?

Yes! Our training is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to pro racers.

Can I customize a training program to focus on specific techniques?

Can I bring my own vehicle, or do you provide off-road rentals?

Yes, you can bring your own vehicle, or we offer rentals for training sessions.

What safety measures are in place for training sessions and excursions?

We provide trained instructors, roll-caged vehicles, safety gear, and emergency response support for a safe experience.
