It was a great, sunny winter Saturday. I attended a crowded meet of our 5 club, the collector’s car club of Israel. WhiteX, which is blue, was just three weeks out of the body and paint shop after spending some three months of being stripped to the bone, fixed and restored and painted this all new paint.
As I was crossing a neighborhood intersection a black Honda Accord ran the red light and smashed into my car, driver side door, and sent it back to the body shop. Now I started my chase for parts. Henk of Holland provided the rear quarter and rocker panel as well as a “BERTONE” sill trim. Our own Bob Brown donated a replacement door, for which I am grateful. MadMatt supplied the striker sill, the handle for engine cover/rear trunk lid, cables for it, and a few more parts. TonyK has shipped me a fuel panel of his own make, and pstaneart of eBay provided a new lower guide for the window. Mainly and mostly, Yuri is putting all this together, mastering the rebirth of one beloved WhiteX.
Behind all this stands the greatest bunch of guys, you. Supporting, helping, guiding and advising. And if you think this is trivial, it is not. I am not saying I wouldn’t have done it alone, but with you it is so much easier.
Here is the progress on the restoration work:
