A drive along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco should be on your list of 25 Things To See Before You Die…
Broken Throttle Mount
In search of why my car will not idle below 1,000 rpm despite adjusting the idle screw on the intake plenum, I started out by visually inspecting the throttle cable connection to the throttle body and found the cable to be unseated. As it turns out, a piece of the mounting has broken off.
When I set the cable back in, the idle comes down as it isn’t “tugging” from a cocked angle. So, this thing is moving around as I throttle up and down. Fabricating a piece should not be a big deal as a temporary fix whilst I source a replacement.
Ferrari Club of Las Vegas Christmas Run
Today’s meeting of LVIAC at Bootlegger was canceled. I clicked over to the Ferrari Club of Las Vegas website and saw that they were meeting to take their annual Christmas Run so I joined in. With my cousin in town, her husband Steve came along and drove in my ALFA. We met up with the club at the Palace Station Hotel and from there cruised 50 miles north on Interstate 15 to Valley of Fire State Park. Our cruise took us out along Lake Mead and into Lake Las Vegas where we all met for lunch at Montelago Resort.
